Job Title: Technical Sales Representative
Reports to: Director of Sales & Engineering
Channel Systems is seeking a motivated and experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our team!
Channel Systems is an innovative imaging solutions provider located in Pinawa, Manitoba. We specialize in hyperspectral, multispectral and infrared imaging technology and offer products for use in a wide range of applications for research and industrial clients, as well as custom system integration and software development services.
In the role of Technical Sales Representative, you will work closely with clients to answer questions, define their needs, provide technical recommendations, and develop solutions to meet their goals.
Job Purpose:
Perform Sales of Spectral Imaging Devices, Infrared Cameras, Machine Vision Cameras, Machine Vision Accessories, Software and Custom Imaging Solutions.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Work with senior sales staff to identify and establish new business opportunities.
- Establish, develop, maintain and foster relationships with new and existing clients.
- Prepare tenders, proposals, and quotations.
- Assist in the development process for custom imaging solutions.
- Track potential customers, leads and opportunities, and generate sales forecasts.
- Provide pre-sales and after-sales support.
- Negotiate contracts, terms and conditions.
- Provide product education and recommendations to clients.
- Represent Channel Systems at trade exhibitions, conferences, and sales meetings.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging and available technologies and applications.
- Effectively communicate with Suppliers on sales, technical information and logistics support.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with Channel Systems marketing and logistics staff as needed.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with Channel Systems technical and engineering staff as needed.
- Setup and test equipment and software when required to support the sales process.
- Undergo approved training opportunities as required.
- Contribute to sales strategy development and collaborate with sales team to execute sales plans.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience in applied sciences are required.
- Minimum 2 years previous experience in sales and customer service with strong understanding of sales processes and techniques is essential.
- Previous experience with industrial cameras/sensors, optics, software development and/or mechanical development is an asset.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities are essential.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and work both independently and as a team member.
- Excellent and well-developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are a must.
- Proficient computer skills including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to navigate difficult situations with consideration and professionalism.
- Technical aptitude and strong analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to set and achieve goals.
- Capable of critical thinking and problem-solving.
- French proficiency is an asset.

This position will involve domestic and international travel. A full driver’s license and the ability to travel to the USA and abroad (passport) is required.
This is a full-time, on-site position (generally weekdays only, 37.5 hours per week on average) based at the Channel Systems offices in Pinawa, MB (1.25hrs east of Winnipeg).
